  • In 2010, SBCSD Board Member Famo Musa co-founded City Heights Youth for Change, and has virtual exhibit this year called “Fragments of Memories.” Read KPBS’s coverage of the exhibit to learn more about the collaborative project, which had a virtual showcase in November.

  • In November 2020, we welcomed new community health workers to the SBCSD team to assist with rental assistance, COVID-19 health education, employment services and unemployment application support for community members, and other resources. These forms of assistance have persisted into 2021.

Welcome to Somali Bantu Community of San Diego. This year we are adjusting to many challenges including COVID-19.  We call on our community members to please wear a mask, maintain social distancing, and wash your hands regularly, as recommended by CDC.
