COVID-19

Throughout the past year, we have been adjusting to many challenges as we work to keep our community safe and healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic. We call on our community members to please wear a mask, maintain social distancing, and wash their hands regularly, as recommended by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Somali Bantu Community of San Diego is proud to be part of the effort to inform our community about COVID-19 testing resources! This is a community outreach and education project funded by the County of San Diego in support of the Live Well San Diego vision.

The COVID-19 Pandemic worsened existing community needs for housing access, food and supplies, and employment. In response, the Somali Bantu Community of San Diego has assisted community members in accessing rental assistance and essential goods, among other programs and services made available by our organization.

We partnered with the Health & Human Services Agency in the San Diego County, developing educational resources and hosting workshops in order to raise awareness about Covid-19 prevention and testing.
